“Furnished” describes a setup, not a universal inventory. One home may include basic furniture; another may also supply linens, kitchenware and utilities. Before comparing prices, ask what will actually be in the offered apartment.
Divide the inventory by function
Start with sleeping, seating, dining, working, cooking and storage. List the items required for each function. Then ask the provider to identify supplied items, available additions and things you must bring yourself.
| Function | Details worth confirming |
|---|---|
| Sleep | Bed sizes, mattresses, bedding and bedside lighting |
| Cook | Appliances, cookware, utensils and tableware |
| Work | Desk or usable surface, chair and active internet |
| Daily upkeep | Laundry access, cleaning supplies and waste arrangements |
Photographs are useful but may show staging or an example home. Ask whether the inventory applies to the exact accommodation being quoted. Keep the furniture list separate from included services, such as cleaning or internet support.
Check quantity and condition
A dining set for two may be adequate for one occupant but unsuitable for a family. The presence of a sofa does not establish that it is approved for sleeping. Confirm the intended use and arrangement rather than improvising extra sleeping capacity.
Ask how existing damage is recorded and how missing or faulty items are reported. At arrival, use the provider’s condition-report process and keep a copy. Check important working items early so an issue is not discovered after the office closes.
Make additions explicit
If you need a work desk, different bed arrangement or another item, ask whether the change is permitted, available and separately charged. Agree on who delivers it and who removes it at departure.
A good furnished quote identifies the home, the inventory, the services and the conditions for changes. That makes the price comparable and gives the provider a clear basis for resolving problems. A broad label alone cannot do either job.
