A supplier having a warehouse in the region does not prove that your chosen sofa is there, available or ready to dispatch. Treat warehouse information as a question about the actual order.
Connect the claim to a product
Ask for the model, finish, quantity and stock location relevant to the quote. Confirm whether the units are available to sell, allocated to another order or expected to arrive later. A general warehouse address is not a stock record.
If a product is available, ask what process secures it and how long an approved allocation remains valid. Do not describe a quote as a reservation unless the supplier’s actual process has made one.
Check the dispatch scope
Clarify whether the quoted service is warehouse pickup, freight delivery, local delivery or room placement. Ask about loading appointments, collection requirements and who handles transport. A nearby warehouse can still require a separately scheduled service.
| Question | Evidence or answer to request |
|---|---|
| What is available? | Exact model, finish and quantity |
| Where is it? | Relevant stock location |
| Is it allocated? | Current order or reservation status |
| How does it leave? | Confirmed pickup or dispatch process |
Keep timing claims conditional
Ask for the proposed dispatch date and delivery arrangement, noting any dependencies. Separate stock availability from building access and final installation. One does not guarantee the other.
For operators, update public stock or fast-fulfilment language only when the real supplier information supports it. Remove the promise when it cannot be reconfirmed. A platform should not advertise a local-stock benefit merely because it hopes to develop that capability.
Keep a dated confirmation with the purchase record. This makes it easier to investigate changes and avoids repeating a warehouse statement as a permanent inventory fact. Local stock can be useful when the exact product, allocation and delivery plan have all been checked.
