Finding the apartment and getting your belongings inside are separate tasks. For a Long Beach move, settle the delivery route and building arrangements before placing a furniture order or accepting a delivery date.
Ask the building for its move-in process
Confirm where the truck may stop, which entrance movers should use and whether an elevator or loading time must be reserved. Ask about required insurance documentation, protection for shared spaces and who approves access. Do not assume the delivery company can arrange permissions on your behalf.
If access involves a public street or curb, check current instructions from the relevant authority or building. A leasing-office assurance about interior access does not automatically authorize public loading activity.
Measure both routes
Trace the path from truck to unit, then from unit door to the final room. Record door openings, turns, elevator dimensions and stair constraints. Include furniture carton dimensions and assembled dimensions; the package may get inside while the assembled item cannot reach its intended position.
Ask the supplier what can be removed or assembled on site without affecting the product instructions or warranty. Do not rely on a delivery team improvising an unsafe solution at the entrance.
Put the schedule in writing
Create a short delivery note with the address, unit, access contact, approved time and any reservation confirmation. Give the same version to the property and delivery team. Include a backup contact for the day, while keeping personal access codes out of public project documents.
Allow for inspection and packaging removal in the approved access period. If several suppliers are involved, avoid scheduling them all against one short elevator slot unless the plan has been confirmed.
The Long Beach directory helps identify the property; the building and supplier must confirm the move. A sofa-fit worksheet and a written access note are practical tools for turning a planned purchase into a manageable delivery.
